Coastal Club. Fun and engaging outdoor activities for under 12’s

Did you know algae produce more oxygen than trees?

That the moon and sun control the tides?

Or that seaweed is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet?

Including its numerous islands, Scotland has a coastline of nearly 12,000 miles. With a long history of seafaring, boatbuilding and myths about the sea, the waters in and around Scotland have shaped not only the landscape but the people themselves.

Together we will learn about the array of fascinating plants and animals that have adapted to this unique environment, along the way we will delve into geography, geology, history, biology, conservation and lots more.

On our journey, we will take part in scientific studies; forage for edibles; learn how to stay safe; discover how to care for the environment and importantly have loads of fun!
